Make Money With Google AdSense
I am happy to say that making money with your site, no matter the topic, has become easier than it's ever been before - and it's 100% legitimate.
If AdSense had been available in 2000, I would have NEVER shut down my soap opera fan site that received 200 hits per day. I would have been able to earn money from that traffic and probably turned a small profit.

Adsense - make money: Free Tools
Some of the most effective methods ways to make money from Adsense clicks involve the simple step of just increasing the volume of targeted traffic to a site. One of the ways of doing this is by distributing interesting content to ezine lists and article announcement lists. It is not too difficult to quickly build a list that reaches a million or so email boxes and can thus give a lot of visibility and drive tons of highly targetd traffic to your Adsense site or sites. Probably the most popular place for doing this is at Yahoo groups, but there are a few others that you can find easily by using your favorite search engine.
Success here depends on three main factors. Firstly you should be careful to join article announcement lists and ezine lists that are as relevant as possible to your subject matter and offering. Secondly your headline has to be a killer headline that will grab readers by the scruffs of their necks and force them to open your email message amongst the dozens or even hundreds of others they receive daily. It goes without saying that the content must meet the promise of your sensational headline. Anything less will cause annoyance and leave all those potential visitors to your Adsense site feeling cheated. And believe me, you don’t want to cause this sort of reaction because it is definitely not one of the ways o make money from Adsense or any other program for that matter. Thirdly, you will need the sort of resource box in all your articles that will leave most of your readers with no option but to visit your Adsense site.
Within a very short of consistently applying this technique, my daily Adsense earnings increased seven-fold.
b) Ways to make money from Adsense by Distributing free articles to high traffic article sites
Some people find the recent trends that have seen an increase in article sites surprising. I don’t. The net is primarily an information-seeking tool. Anything that will help improve the search and quality of information will greatly benefit the people making that effort.
Some of the older article directories receive very high traffic, mainly from web masters and site owners seeking quality free content for their sites. So apart from the immediate exposure these sites also guarantee plenty of future targeted traffic to your site, when folks find your articles useful enough to re-post at their sites.
The more new articles you release to these sites every week, the more targeted traffic your Adsense sites will receive. This is in fact one of the most effective ways of making money consistently from Adsense clicks. One of the reasons for this is that targeted traffic will tend to spend more time at your site or sites, and the more time they spend, the higher the chances that they will click one one of the Adsense ads posted there.
c) Ways to make money from Adsense by Using Articles And A Viral Marketing Website
Any online marketing technique that involves the use of referral marketing or viral marketing automatically has a huge chance of being a success. The net is ideal for viral marketing and in fact gives any viral marketer huge leverage. Viral marketing or referral marketing is one of the most effective ways to make money online. Just ask Bill Gates.
When Gates was trying to play catch up on the Internet after an earlier mistake of underestimating the future importance of the net, he launched his Hotmail free email service when rivals like Yahoo already had millions of users. He decided to use a simple referral marketing technique. Every Hotmail message that went out had a brief signature at the end requesting the recipient to sign up for their free Hotmail account. Within a few short months, Hotmail had millions of users. And there are many other amazing stories which viral marketing boasts of on the net.
There is one of the very simple ways to make money from Adsense by going viral. Sign up at a leading viral marketing site. You will automatically get your own viral site. You can then use some of your articles to point people to your viral site. The way these sites work is that anybody who signs up at your site will have to visit your Adsense site if you register it at the site. So within a very short time you will be driving thousands of visitors to your Adsense site.
Admittedly this traffic is less targeted. Still the huge potential and possible numbers you are able to receive using this free tool more than makes up for this.
6 Adsense Secrets to Make $500 a Day in Google Cash
Adsense Earnings Strategy
Before embarking on your Adsense journey, give some thought as to your goals & how you want to achieve them.
To illustrate the above, an Adsense publisher wanting to earn $100 a day in "Google cash" could set up 100 websites to earn $1 a day from each one or alternatively he could try & make $100 a day in Adsense revenue from just 1 website.
Neither of the above scenarios are ideal & you should aim to have more than 1 site so that you don't have all your eggs in one basket & are subjected to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm’s, market trends, etc).
However, having too many sites leaves you with major maintenance, management and content issues so aim for somewhere in between.
Topic - General or Niche
You will need to decide on the topic of your website or blog - niche websites work better with adsense than general topics mainly because the ads that Google serves up are appropriately targeted to your topic & your site's traffic will also be targeted & more likely to click on your ads & generate Adsense money for you.
Furthermore deciding on a certain niche for your site, in which you are an authority, will allow you to create content that adds to your expert status on the subject.
It's also very important to ensure that your niche is one for which there is a certain amount of interest, eg. photography & not something for which there will be no advertisers & therefore no opportunity to make any money from Adsense.
Remember that generally speaking the more popular the niche the higher paying the keywords will be & the more the savvy Adsense publisher will earn per click.
Adsense Ad Placement
While certain locations tend to be more successful than others, Google's "heat map" below illustrates the ideal placing on a sample page layout.
The best performing ad placements are in dark orange fading to light yellow representing the weakest performing areas.
Generally ads located above the fold tend to perform better than those below the fold and ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page.
Best Performing Adsense Ads
The following is a list that is generally accepted as of the highest performing ad sizes...
336×280 large rectangle
300×250 inline rectangle
160×600 wide skyscraper
Whilst the above size ads may not always be suitable for your website or blog it is worth noting that these are the ones that out perform other Adsense ad sizes.
Another Tip to Improve Your Ads' CTR
Another Adsense trick that usually increases a site's CTR (Click Through Rate) is by blending your adsense ads into your site's content - you need to ensure that the Adsense ad does not actually look like an ad - allowing ads to look like ads will seriously dent your chances of making decent Adsense money.
The Google Adsense program provides a color pallette which allows you to change border colors & shapes as well as backgrounds, text & url colors.
You can therefore blend the ad in terms of its shape, size & color to blend in with the colors of your site's text & background.
A worthwhile tip is to change all of your page hyperlinks to a high contrast color, like a bold blue for example, and then change the adsense title to the same color.
Adsense Ad Maintenance
It's a good idea to use include files for all your Adsense ad code.
The benefit of this is that if you need to change an ad for whatever reason, all you need to do is update the code in the include/php file & then upload it to your server - the ad will then be updated site wide, ie. wherever it exists on your site - this is far easier than changing each ad on each page of your website.
So while making money with Adsense's set and forget, auto pilot type of arrangement is relatively easy, you aren't going to make anywhere near what you can from it unless you tap into the best Adsense brains in the business.
One of the biggest mistakes Adsense publishers make is not knowing the best strategies to employ to explode your Adsense earnings no matter what traffic your site is getting.
Get these all important strategies from Joel Comm, who is arguably the best Adsense brain & one of the biggest Adsense earners on the net, who will show you how to explode your Adsense earnings with his book Adsense Secrets 4.0 which is on offer for free if you hurry.

ShoeMoney Reveals How He Made $132,994.97 From AdSense In a Month
I couldn’t help but felt totally in awe while reading a post over at ShoeMoney.com where he answers several frequently asked questions about the AdSense Check in his Gallery that showed him holding one worth over $100K. Keep in mind that the check was for August 2005.
Sure, it’s a link bait post but a good one at that, so it’s worth linking to. If you are looking for a real life example of publishers making insane amount of money from AdSense, check this one out. Posting the picture again will continue to “resurrect” readers’ interest and certainly create an opportunity for him to promote his sites.
I quote the FAQ in full below:
What site was it for? What does the site do?
The site is nextpimp. The name was kind of a joke at first… next-pimp like pimp out your nextel phone. It started as a wallpaper site for nextel phones which grew into ringtones and other stuff. All content is 100% user generated.
How much of the check was profit?
At the time my expenses were 1 server @ 299$ per month for hosting. I would say atleast 130k was profit.
How much of the traffic was pay per click?
None of it was pay per click. Back then I did not know anything at all about pay per click.
Where did all your traffic come from?
About 70% of the traffic was direct 15% from search engines and 15% from referrals.
How much traffic did the site get to get that much money?
About 75k uniq per day.
Why did you get a paper check and not wire?
Back then Google did not do wire transfers for amounts of $10,000.00
Do you think its possible to still earn that kind of revenue?
(most often asked question) Yes.
How long did it take to make revenue?
I never tried to make any money the first 1.5 years it was running. I just concentrated on providing a good service. About 2 years after I started the site It started to do good revenue from AdSense
Can you show the full month report from AdSense for that month? Sure.
He even includes a screenshot of his AdSense report for that particular month. With permission from Google, he discloses his CTR and CPM. Can you imagine making such insane amount of money while only spending $299 monthly on web hosting? Check out his daily income below. Now convert those to Malaysian ringgit, are you thinking what I’m thinking?
And that’s not even his main income, according to him, AdSense has accounted for less than 5% of the incoming revenue for his companies. In addition to that, his blog at ShoeMoney.com is pulling just under $30,000 in October from direct ad sales, 30% from affiliate programs and other sources. Obviously more than the amount John Chow made from his blog. It made my head spin just thinking about those seriously mad figures.
But it doesn’t stop there, in March 2007 he made USD709,626.81 in commission from Commission Junction. I hope that’s a typo because I started to feel a little depress right now LOL. Just joking, it’s great inspiration for everyone. I don’t know if he earned that amount as a vendor or affiliate, regardless, it’s just insane to make that much monthly.
So did you notice a running theme here? He doesn’t make money by serving AdSense or selling paid links on his blog. While creating a blog can make you rich if it’s done correctly, I believe you’ll have to explore other monetization options in order to go to the next level.
You’ll need to create sites that serve certain purposes like PlentyOfFish.com or NextPimp.com, then learn PPC and do affiliate marketing. Remember Ashley, the 17 year old teenage girl who pull in over $70K monthly from AdSense by offering free MySpace templates on her site?
That goes to show that offering a service or products that lots of people are interested in will help you make money online faster.
Now I‘m not suggesting you drop everything you are doing now and start brainstorming similar ideas and hopefully get rich next year. I am aware that there are tons of other ways to make money online and not everyone can be as successful as those above even when they create the next free dating site, or free ringtone download site or give away free Myspace templates.
Often people become successful because they are able to offer the right products/services at the right time. Some may call that luck, but I call it knowing when to act when opportunity presents itself. If we can do that, we’ll be the next ShoeMoney.
How to Make More Money from AdSense with Fewer Ad Units
You may have noticed that I’ve removed two AdSense ad units. These are the medium rectangle 300×250 which appeared on the main page, and the banner 468×60 shown below each post.
I did this to see if I could make more money from AdSense by showing fewer ad units.
The premise is that with less ad inventory available on your site, the competition among advertisers is fiercer. So if you only show 4 ads in an ad unit, the AdSense system will target the highest paying ads to the ad unit and shows them first, working down through the auction results to fill in the rest of you ad units in order.
On the other hand, showing more ad units allows lower-bidding advertisers to appear on your site. This will effectively reduce your CPC, (or CPM for a site targeted ad units).
I’ve been tracking my result for the past few days and noticed an obvious increased in my AdSense income after I made the changes.
However, this trick might not work especially if you have a low traffic site. In such case, placing more ad units may make more sense.
Sure, you will earn less per click and your effective CPM will drop, but your overall revenue could potentially be higher. This is because the more ad units you have the better chance for someone to click on any of those ads.
That said, the best thing for you to do is to experiment with the number of ad unit that make you the most money because more ad units don’t always translate to more money.
Keep in mind that no matter how many ad units are shown, the system will work out and only show the highest paying ads. So you pocket more money at the end of the day even with lower overall CPC or eCPM.
Showing fewer ad units in order to make more also work best if someone is targeting your site. Advertisers competing for less ad inventory should drive up the prices.
Section Targeting - More Adsense revenue
Section targeting allows you to suggest sections of your text and HTML content that you'd like us to emphasize or downplay when matching ads to your site's content. By providing us with your suggestions, you can assist us in improving your ad targeting. We recommend that only those familiar with HTML attempt to implement section targeting.
To implement section targeting, you'll need to add a set of special HTML comment tags to your code. These tags will mark the beginning and end of whichever section(s) you'd like to emphasize or de-emphasize for ad targeting.
The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format:
You can also designate sections you'd like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag:
With these tags added to your HTML code, your final code may look like the following:
This is the text of your webpage. Most of your content resides here.
You can use section targeting to make suggestions about as many sections of a page as you like. However, please be aware that we can't guarantee results, and that it may take up to 2 weeks before our crawlers take into account any changes you've made to your site.
In order to properly implement this feature, you'll need to include a significant amount of content within the section targeting tags. Including insufficient content may result in less relevant ads or PSAs. In addition, please keep in mind that this feature should only be used to emphasize significant sections of your site's relevant content. It is against our program policies to manipulate the ad targeting to result in ads that are not relevant to the content of your pages.
Google Adsense Matt Cutts
What Matts said on optimizing URLs:
Do not put your blog at the root of your domain. Try putting it on a subdomain or a subdirectory. People will link to your root domain and to your blog. That will be an extra pagerank point and a room for future expansion. But, if you already have in the root, it’s not a big deal. Consider this only if you’re starting a blog.
Use dashes to separate keywords in your URLs. Google is considering underscore as a good keyword separator. Dashes and underscores are better than no space at all. Though Google can segment keywords from combined words without space, other search engines cannot like Gigablast, Ask.com, Turbo10, etc.
Don’t change URLs of your old posts and do a permanent or 301 redirect, if you’ve already done it with no spaces. But use dashes in your future post URLs.
You may use URL extensions such as .php, .asp, .cfm, .htm, .html, etc. except .exe.
Dynamic URLs with question marks or hash marks are treated by Google as static URL but keep the number of parameters up to 3 only. Otherwise, it will not be crawled by Googlebot.
Google doesn’t really care how much or how detailed your URLs are. Page rank flows completely independent of how many slashes there are.
Standardize your URL. Choose one from: with www, without www, with slash, with /index.*. Search engine treat them as different URL and you will not get the full credit if the your backlinks are in different format. Analyze your backlink URLs before you decide.
Use your own domain name in your FeedBurner feeds thru FeedBurner MyBrand. It’s free. So if you wanna get rid of FeedBurner you can always just leave it behind. And, changing to your own domain name will have no impact to your old FeedBurner URL.
6 Tips on Accessibility and Usability
Matt’s optimization tips to make your blog or site accessible or usable to most of the users:
Use Alt tags on your images as it makes big difference in search engines. Matt said there’s a blind guy at Google, who can’t see image but can read Alt tags (?). Don’t make him angry.
You may use a full sentence in Alt tags but don’t overdo it or use irrelevant keywords like cheap-cheap-Viagra-online-mesothelioma-debt-consolidation-mortgage-payment. 7 to 8 words are fine but Matt prefers 3 up to 5 words.
Do a podcast or video. Matt shared a valuable tip how to choose between podcast and video. Submit a picture of yourself to hotornot.com. If you got a rating of 7 and above, then do a video. Otherwise, podcast is more appropriate. Don’t just believe on what your mother has been saying to you.
Use Wordpress for your blog and you’re guaranteed your site is crawlable. Default Wordpress install is almost optimal in terms of crawlability.
Don’t use frame sets or other sorts of weird stuff as it don’t work well on iPhones and other cell phones or mobile phones or GSMs. Many people are now accessing sites on their phones.
Show dates of the post because people wanna know when your post was created.
4 Tips on Link Building, Link-bait and PageRank
Matt’s advice on link building, link bait and increasing PageRank:
Don’t worry about the supplemental results as there’s not much you can do about it. It’s an exclusive PageRank business.
Be creative and get huge amount of backlinks. That’s huge amount of PageRank. Below are the best examples of creative concepts for effective link building and getting huge amount of web site traffic:
==> LOLCat Builder
==> Lonely Girl Fifteen on video
==> Million Pixel Homepage
==> Making a Mac versus PC parody
==> The Free Hugs Campaign
==> Parez Hilton
==> Video of people saying the word “Google” really fast for about five minutes
==> Dr. David’s picture of bloggers and cartoons of what they want to be
==> Counting and comparing the spam emails received
on Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo
==> Live-Blog on Techmeme
==> John Dvorak’s Creative controversy
==> Robert Scoble Mention a-listers
==> Jeremy Schumaker’s poll: George Bush - Great President Or Greatest President Ever?
==> Matt Cutts’ got hacked on 1st of April and he really got hacked
Selling links and buying links are against Google guidelines and Google take serious action against it. If you want to sell links make sure that they don’t effect search engines. You can do a link through a url that re-directs and then robot that text out, you can use java script, you can use the no follow tag, that’s fine.
The best advice is to make great compelling content and come up with some hook, some social engineering, the gimmick, the angle that’s going to make your stuff go viral.
Adsense Tip
Matt on Adsense:
Use adsense section targeting. Just take the meat of your post and Google ads will be more focused about what you’re actually talking about. That means more clicks and more adsense revenues for you.
7 Recommended Tools and Plugins
Matt recommended the following web tools and plugins:
Use Akismet math comments spam protection. This stops a lot of people spamming your blog.
Use polls to promote democracy like asking “Which type of pet do you have?”
Use SEO title tool from Stephan, which swaps the name of your blog with your post title and other stuff.
Use Google Analytics and find out where your web site traffic is coming from. You will know if they are coming from the queries that people are using or from direct links or from people that type in your URL. It’s free.
Check your robots.txt as it may be blocking your URL completely. Use robots.txt to disallow search engine bots to crawl particular page or directory in your site.
Use 404 handler to redirect any external broken links or backlinks to your homepage or to any of your URL and receive free web site traffic. You may check your broken backlinks thru Google Analytics.
Develop for IPhone apps. There are important sites that host IPhone apps or IPhone directories where you can get a lot of web site traffic.
Finding High Paying Adsense ADS! ! !
Finding High Paying Ads is not as easy as it sounds (is anything?).
Do a search for Google on High Paying Adsense Ads and you won’t find too many sites listing the best keywords for Adsense. The top Adsense users in Adsense discussion forums tend to be pretty secretive about not only what keywords they focus on, but also what sites they run. I don’t blame them either - its good business sense really.
Having said this there are a number of strategies and tools that you might like to employ to help find high paying keywords.
Buy them - Finding high paying keywords for your blog is possible by yourself for free - but as with everything a few entrepreneurial types are willing to do the leg work for you to save you some time and give you a comprehensive result. One service that you might like to try to find good keywords is Top Paying Keywords.
Trial and Error - I know this will frustrate some of you who want a nice and easy quick fix but overall it is one of the best pieces of advice I can give. Try writing on a topic - track the results - if it pays off do it again….lots. Adsense allows you to track specific pages or sections of your blog using its ‘channels’ feature - if you’re smart you’ll watch which sections of your blog are generating the highest ads by dividing your overall earnings by the number of clicks and comparing it to other channels. Keep trying new topics until you strike gold and then dig in like crazy!
Are there Any Ads? - This is a good first question. Despite the many thousands of advertisers using Adsense there are some topics where the answer to this question is no. A simple way to check is to head to Google and do a search for the key words you’re wanting to blog about. The results page will bring up not only a list of other sites writing about that key word (they are you competitors) but on the right hand side there will be a list of ads - these are the same sorts of ads you’ll get on your site if you write on the topic. If there are ads there, it is a good sign. If there are not - maybe its worth finding another topic to write on if you’re hoping to attract ads.
7 Search has a list of the 100 of the top paying keywords (in their advertising program - not Adsense) at the moment. Its a bit depressing actually to see a list like this because you’d have to sell your soul somewhat in order to go with many of them. Its an interesting site to check out though.
Also from 7 Search (and more useful) is their Keyword Suggestion Tool which gives you an idea of what people are paying per click on different tools (again this is not specifically for Adsense but it will give you an idea of what the going rates are). Find What also has a similar service.
Google Adsense’s biggest competitor are Overture (they run the ads on Yahoo) - they offer a service where you can enter your keywords and they will not only tell you how much advertisers are paying for the words but also how many people are searching for the term. This is a very useful tool.
Sign up for Adwords - One way of getting a feel for how much people are willing to pay per click is to sign up with Google as an advertiser yourself. It doesn’t cost much to start a mini campaign and do some research this way. You’ll get a feel for what people are bidding on different words very quickly this way.
Targeting High Paying Adsense Ads is an important aspect of generating an income from Adsense. It is not enough in and of itself however. You can have $10 per click ads (I’ve not found any of these yet) but without generating any traffic your research into the right ads will be useless. Likewise it is one thing to identify which ads you want to target - but it is another thing to actually get these relevant ads showing on your site. It is to this topic which our next post in this series will head - Finding Relevant Adsense Ads.
5 Google Adsense Secrets, Tips and Tricks
1.i It’s tested and it works. Use the same colour of your page background, for the border and the background of the ad.
1.ii Use the same colors used in your page, for the Adsense ad title, text and url link.
1.iiia If possible use the same font in your page, as the Adsense ads. Since the ads have variable text size and font, according to dimension and type of ad, you can never do this 100% right. But every little bit helps.
Real life Adsense font size and type768×60 Ad unit:
Title: style="line-height:12px; font-size:11px; font-family:verdana,arial,sans-serif"
Description: style="line-height:12px; font-size:10px; font-family:verdana,arial,sans-serif"
URL: style="line-height:12px; font-size:10px" face="verdana,arial,sans-serif"
300×250 Ad unit:
Title: style="line-height:14px;font-size:11px" face="arial,sans-serif"
Description: style="line-height:14px;font-size:11px" face="arial,sans-serif"
URL: style="line-height:14px;font-size:10px" face="arial,sans-serif"
As you can notice above, some ads have the arial font as default, some have verdana. Some have a 10px description text, some have 11px. And besides all that, each box may contain 1 up to 4 ads, and depending on that the font sizes will change. So it’s really up to you to experiment and see what works best for you, in as many cases as possible.
1.iv Try to not separate the ad from the content (like trashing the ad in some remote corner of your website. Integrate it within the content (in, within, next to, above, below etc).
2. Placing ads high on a page is good
Position the ads with the highest CTR, as high as possible in the page, in the source’s order (in the image below, notice that the ad appears just below the body tag). The first ads that appear in the pages (in the source’s order) get the most income per click.
3. Use images. Images and Adsense work together
Use images left or right of the ads. It makes them seen as part of the pages content, and your CTR increases. It doesn’t matter what images you use. Use any plain generic images. If you can, try to corelate those with the niche/domain of your website/blog. Be carefull not to write text, point arrows or similar on the images, as that might be seen as click incentives.
4. Earnings are variable, based on CTR
With the Smart pricing ideea, your income varies a lot, according to each of your channel’s CTR rate.
Now this is very important: It’s account-wide, not channel-wide. So if you have a very good CTR (5%-50%) for one website, and you include it in the same account with a 0.04# CTR website, you will loose money.
Remove all the websites (from your account) that don’t have at least a 5% CTR (or depeding on your overall CTR, remove the ones that are really lower than your average), or you’ll affect the income of all the other good converting websites.
5. Use non-standard types of ads
We all know that web-savvy (eg. webmasters or people that use the Internet for so many years, and know all the standards, convetions and so on) users are ad-blind.
Banners like 468×80 have been on the Internet since it’s creation. Even people who use the Internet vaguely or once a month, are kind of blind to these standard banners.
Instead, use vertical skyscrapers, or boxed ads. They have a much higher click rate. The Adsense team even published a list of their highest performing ad sizes:
336×280 large rectangle
300×250 inline rectangle
160×600 wide skyscraper
How to use Twitter ? Properly for Traffic !!!
Most people dwell too much on the “rules” or accepted expectations for sites like Twitter. In this video, Michael Gray points out that there is no right way or wrong way to use Twitter. He says the only right way is when you are getting out of it what you want and what you’re putting into it.
What works for one person or business may not work for you. Therefore, it is important to determine your goals early and to do whatever you have to do to meet your goals.
Michael does give some basic tips that everyone could adopt and practice to build their reputation in the community. They are:
- Be polite- Make friends- Start conversations- Ask questions- Answer questions
Most people prefer tweets that are not self-promoting. Michael says bigger brands have more flexibility in this regard, but even they should not take advantage of it. Twitter is about engagement and most self-promotions do not encourage it.
The value you receive from Twitter is ultimately determined when you identify your goals and work to meet them. It’s not about how many followers you acquire. What really matters is how many of those followers actually know who you are and are helping you meet your goals.
Finding High paying ADS
Word Tracker is the best tool I’ve seen to help in finding keywords that people are searching for in the major search engines. The excellent thing about Word Tracker is that they also tell you how many other sites out there are targeting the same words! This is very handy as it will stop you targeting ‘Britney Spears’ as a Keyword phrase even though its one of the most searched for keywords on the web because literally hundreds of thousands of other sites have beaten you to the punch. Word Tracker has a free version to trial it and their paying version is even better - well worth the investment.
Writing for the Web - more Adsense $$
Below you'll discover how to improve your writing skills in order to keep and captivate your visitor's attention.
Stress The Benefits Early and Often
Don't focus on what you want, focus on what your visitor wants. Whether you realize it or not, when a person lands on your homepage, there's a little voice inside their head that constantly asks, "What's in it for me?"
They came to your site because they are searching for something, and it's your job to help them find it.
Now, this next sentence is going to sound a little harsh, but it's the truth. . .
Your visitors don't care about you until they find out what you and your site can do for them.
Think about it. When you go to Google and do a search for "download music", that means you are looking for a site that will allow you to download your favorite songs.
So when you click on the first site, you don't want to get bombarded with biographical information about the author of the site. At this point, you are looking for the benefits. You want the goods, the guts, and the glory.
Now, after you discover that this site may be of use to you, you may decide to read up on the author and how the site was founded, etc. But you don't want to be hit with the history of the site right from the beginning.
I see so many people starting their web sites out with a 10 paragraph bio about themselves. The paragraphs are filled with countless "me's" and "I's". (Yawn)
If you are trying to sell a product or a service, this is the absolute WRONG way to go about it. You must feed your visitors the benefits, give them what they want. Get rid of all the I's and me's and replace them with the all important word, "YOU". Remember, you are not writing this site for yourself, you're writing it for the potential customer.
Don't Assume People Will Read Everything
The average person will only read between 5 and 10 percent of your site. This is because most people find what they're looking for within the first few pages. So if you're trying to sell something, make sure your important benefits are listed upfront and get to the point quickly.
Not only will they not read every page, they also won't read every word on your pages. They scan for information just like they're reading a newspaper. That's why it's important to make sure your pages have lots of concise paragraphs separated by subtitles.
This makes it easier for them to scan and find the information they're looking for. Don't make them hunt too long to find something or they'll leave.
This is another reason why it's important to include some kind of site directory or table of contents on your site. Also make sure that it's accessible from every page. Organization is definitely key.
Be smart with your site - to build Traffic
After you've written your copy, it's a good idea to take a step back and put yourself in your visitor's shoes for a moment.
Pretend you are visiting your site for the first time and read over all the content. Then ask yourself a few questions:
Have I explained everything clearly?
Sure the content makes sense to you because you wrote it, but if you were a first-time visitor, what questions might you have? Did you leave out some information because you assumed the visitor already knows? Are there terms or phrases that you need to define?
Does the content flow logically?
Have you put the cart before the horse? Do your thoughts jump all over the page or are they organized?
If you develop your content in your head as you type, it's very easy to produce copy that is unorganized. Make sure you read over everything to ensure your paragraphs and sentences flow logically.
Does your site navigation make sense?
Navigation is so very important. You don't want your visitors to get lost so it's important that your navigation titles make sense and clearly define what each section/page is about.
You also want to ensure that important pages like the order and contact form are easily accessible from every page on your site. In addition, be sure that your navigation is consistent and doesn't change from page to page.
If you find this task difficult to do, ask a friend to help out. Have them read every page of your site and jot down any questions or comments that develop as they go along. You'll be amazed at what you'll discover when someone else reads your work.
Writing Effective Headlines
Every page on your site should have a headline. And since the headline is the first thing a person sees, it MUST make an impact and draw the reader into your copy. Here are some tips on writing effective headlines:
Always use the present tense.
Make sure your words consist of upper and lowercase letters. All caps scream to people and look very unprofessional.
Use strong verbs. Instead of "cut" use, words like slash, chop, dagger, etc.
Challenge the reader. Try titles like, For Serious Golfers Only! or Only Click Here if You Want to Make Money Today.
Too many exclamation points scream out "Amateur!!!!" If you must use them, use only one.
STRESS THE BENEFITS! Tell the readers, "What's in it for them." For example, You Can Earn $800.00 by Next Week.
Use the words "I" and "you". For example:
I am working at home and loving it - You can too!
Ask a question that begs an answer. But make sure your ad answers the question, otherwise your reader will feel tricked or "lead on." For example, Do You Know the Easiest Way to Earn $5,000 Per Month?
Use attention-grabbing words like Discover, Amazing, and Powerful.

Increase internet traffic with twitter for your Adsense
There are many creative ways to increase traffic to your website. Some will cost you money, and some won't. Below you'll find many legitimate ways (ranging from free to costly) to boost the number of visitors to your website.
Offer free, original, and quality content on your site. This is the most effective means for increasing traffic to a website; offering people something that they cannot obtain elsewhere, or at least, not to the level of quality that you are offering it. Ways in which to ensure that your content is of higher quality than competitors or is unique.
Improve your search engine ranking by focusing your content on keywords related to your topic. This is called search engine optimization and will help people find your website when they're searching the Web. Make sure the keywords flow naturally with the text and when you are brainstorming for good words, ask around for words that come naturally to people of all ages when looking for your type of site. To help you understand better, realize that the keywords not only go into headings and page names but also into "meta tags". "Meta tags" are the software code that website visitors do not see but search engines do. Finally, don't overdo the keywords; over-stuffing keywords will result in a very low search ranking for your website. Also, be very careful not to place key text inside graphics; search engines cannot pick up graphics.
Get linked. This is a very important part of website management. Exchange links. Trading links with other websites that are closely related to the subject of your website can bring you more website traffic. These are two-way links because you must provide a link to them, too, and linking to low-quality websites can threaten the credibility of yours. Only link to sites that are dead on topic, and truly help your visitors. Instead of trading links, you could also trade banner ads, half page ads, classified ads, etc.
Give freebies. Who doesn't like a freebie?! Online freebies are commonplace and they leave the visitor wanting more when they are well written and informative introductory materials. Consider such freebies as:
Giving away an eBook with your ad on it. Allow your visitors to also give the freebie away. This'll increase your ad exposure and increase web traffic to your website at the same time;
Holding free online classes or seminars. They could be held in your website's chat room. The idea of "live" information will definitely entice people to visit your website. You will become known as an expert on the topic.
Giving visitors a free entry into your contest or sweepstakes. The prizes should be something of interest or value to your visitors. Most people who enter will continually revisit your web site to get the results.
Letting visitors download free software such as freeware, shareware, demos etc. You could even turn part of your site into a free software directory. If you created the software, include your ad inside and let other people give it away.
Targeting specific groups who might worry about using the internet with free classes in using it on your site - senior citizens, busy workers etc. might find these convenient and alluring.
Adsense - be smart to win
We've all heard this about real estate. Location. Location. Location. With Adsense the same is true. Place ads in locations where people will see them. Usually the best spots to place ads are at the top of the page and in the content. The ads should be formatted to complement the content of your site. However, getting the placement and formatting of AdSense ads optimized doesn't guarantee success. You'll have to do more. Keep reading.
Select Topics with Many Advertisers
AdSense matches ads to the content of your pages. So, the simplest thing to do is to create content where AdSense has existing advertisers to place on your pages. In general, the more advertisers there are to match to your content, the more money you will make and the better liquidity you will see so that your earnings fluctuate less. AdSense typically places the most valuable ads in the order the page loads. Generally, this means that the ads at the top of the page will pay more when clicked than the ads at the bottom of the page, but it stands to reason for sites that place three AdSense ads on a page, that if there are more advertisers, the fill rate of each spot will be higher and the amount earned with each ad spot will drop less if there is substantial competition among advertisers.
Understand Who Clicks on Ads and Where They Come From
If you are hoping to make money from AdSense, you'll have to attract people that click on ads. Did you know that people that begin their search on AOL and ASK are among the most likely to click on ads and on HubPages, they generate some of the highest CPMs. They are 210% more likely to click on ads than the average visitor to the site and generate CPMs 312% more than the average source of traffic. The trick is to understand the demographics of their site so you can create content that they will search for - Quantcast shows it has women with kids, higher income and less college education.
Create Content that Lasts
I've written before about evergreen content. It's very important to an AdSense centric monetization strategy for two reasons. First, related to what I just covered, search engine traffic generates the most people that click on ads, and second, each piece of content is like putting a little money in the bank that will generate the equivalent of interest on a bank account. Each month you get a dividend because the content is relevant for a long period of time. When the article is nolonger relevant, this is like emptying your bank account and seeing the dividends stop. You want to create content that will endure and pay dividends for years to come.
Adsense: what are the best ads units?
It really depends on your site. Start out with one single 300x250 ad. That's right, only one ad unit with that size. If you follow this advice, you will save yourself a lot of headaches, and you will see immediate results.
When starting with the 300x250 ad, create 3 different units containing 3 different colors. First, always match the "title" using the same color as your links on your blog or site. Then, make the rest of the ad matching the content of your site. For example, if your text is black, then make the colors black, but match your link color.
Once you have created three different 300x250 AdSense units, one with a border while another has a border, you are about 50 percent done! Place the one ad unit on a section of your site. Then, each day, change the ad unit to another location. You must do this each day for the entire week.
Test your new ad placement for a period of one week. Then, review your CTR to determine which placement works best on your Web site.
In the Google AdSense reports, sort by "CTR" (click-through rate) first. The channels you created for each of the three ad units will be sorted starting from the top. This is what you are aiming for, is a click-through rate higher than 1 percent.
At the end of the week, check your reports as you will get an idea on which area and unit will work the best. Make this your primary ad space. You can now experiment with different colors and sizes to get an idea on what will work best for your primary placement.
This would be the time to experiment with a second AdSense unit, and so on. You will soon be earning some extra cash for your blog or Website.
Bloggers increase your Adsense earnings
Optimize your blog title - Your blog title is the first thing that is visible to search engines and the AdSense bot, so it is very important you mention what your blog is about in the blog title. This is especially important for blogs that have a irrelevant domain name, although some blogs are about making money online there domain name don't have any keywords related to making money online so changing the blog title to something like make money blogging is a good way to get targeted ads. This method has SEO benefits as well.
Optimize your post titles and post content - To earn money with AdSense you need ads that are targeted for your audience. If your blog is about Forex trading and you are getting AdSense ads about blogging then you need to realize that you are not getting the targeted ads. Make sure to add your keywords to the post titles and to make them bold and a bit repetitive in your post content. This might effect the quality a bit, but you are looking to make money right?
Work on getting more search engine traffic - This has two benefits, first you are getting the kind of visitors that are most likely to click on your ad and secondly since search engine traffic is targeted you are going to get more targeted ads.
The above points not only will help you earn more with AdSense it will help to improve your search engine rankings as well.
Adsense - which is better: wordpress or Blogger?
WORDPRESS
• Easy setup, if you have decent computer knowledge
• Massive amounts of different templates to choose from both on the site and elsewhere online - highly professional
• Huge array of plug-ins for extra features to be added easily and for free
• Site can be used with your own domain name
• You can create categories, links and make it look like a regular website
BLOGGER
• Extremely simple setup for complete novice to the Internet
• Has comments with minor moderation
• Ability to email to make new posts
• Storage of pictures instead of just linking to them
• Looks like a typical blog
• Blogger is owned by Google
Hence my sentiment; since Blogger is actually OWNED by Google Inc., it naturally does better with Google AdSense because it is easily detected on Google's radar faster and will be indexed faster. Simply put, Google has a quick eye for Blogger.
Conclusively, if making money with Google AdSense is of huge importance to you, I strongly recommend Blogger for you. However, if making money with Google AdSense is not vitally significant to you, you may then consider the newer and of course, the better Wordpress. It's simply a question of priority. What do you think?
Small Adsense tutorial
You can also use graphics to entice your reader's senses. Its like an art you have to put an impact to your masterpiece for it to sell. Be creative. Lots of people will be viewing your site and you have a goal to earn that money for clicks they generate.
-Improve your sites navigation. It means you have to optimize how the transferring or moving from one page to another about your site is another way of maximizing your adsense earning. An appropriate title or links that connects the visitor's attention and gets them to click on one or more of the links that will take them to another page of your site.
Also aside from site navigation a logical way of navigation should be applied to driving traffic to your high paying AdSense pages. It's not a good to have a website that gets a lot of traffic from search engines but have low earnings. The tip is put some labeled links to get the visitors off that pages and navigate them to higher earning ones. Nice way of converting real cheap clicks to real money.
-Compare your site to another AdSense website. There's nothing wrong in comparing other sites from your website, its like a way of checking what's in and out of the trend... but do not try to imitate them because they also have their sense of style and uniqueness to attract visitors. By taking a look on them can give you ideas on how to improve your site.
-Testing and tracking your site. To find a style that works best your site you have to reinvent changed and mixed things around. Don't forget to track to know what style fits to your visitors taste.
